October empties

Monday, November 3rd 2014 Skincare

October is a bit light on the empties front. I tried quite a lot of new products, so I didn’t really get through many of my existing products. Everything I used up was skincare, no makeup or even hair products this month. A couple of these products have become favourites of mine, so read on to see what they are.

Paulas Choice C15, madre labs hand cream, clinique moisture surge, linden leaves eye rescue serum

Paula’s Choice Resist C15 Super Serum
I purchased this to harness to powers of Vitamin C to reduce the post-inflammatory hyperpigmention that my years of battling with acne has left me with. It won’t work on pitted scars but it does a great job on darkened or red spots. It makes my complexion look a lot better, even though I do have active acne still. I have already repurchased and started using a second bottle of this. I got my mum onto using this, as she has some sun damage, and she has also noticed a real improvement with it. I’ve raved about this previously in a post about Paula’s Choice.
Repurchase? Yes, already have.

Paula's Choice C15 serum

Madre Labs Hand cream
I saw that this was on special when I was shopping on iHerb once, and I am powerless to resist a bargain. There isn’t really an enormous amount that one can say about a hand cream, but this is a really lovely product. It’s not too greasy, doesn’t have an over powering scent, which is good. It contains argan, jojoba, sesame, avocado, olive and coconut oils, as well as shea butter, all of which work well to nourish my hands.
Repurchase? Maybe, once I’ve finished my hand cream stash.

Clinique Moisture Surge
I bought this mini sized moisturising gel from Clinique in a desperate attempt to help my skin as it was suffering through the dryness of winter, and I am so pleased that I did. I typically find Clinique to be a bit overpriced in NZ, but this was worth it. You don’t need to use very much of it to achieve the ‘extended thirst relief’ that it promises, and it sinks in so quickly, so is good to use under makeup. I’d prefer if it wasn’t in a jar, for hygiene reasons and also because it’s annoying to travel with.
Repurchase? Yes, from Sephora AU

Clinique Moisture Surge

Linden Leaves eye rescue serum
This isn’t actually empty, but I’ve included it because I’m throwing it out. I received it in my July Goodie Box, and have been using it most nights since. I’m throwing it out because I felt like it made no difference to my skin. It’s moisturising, but it doesn’t do anything special, it’s just another step and a bit of a hassle. I might as well just use the same moisturiser that I use on the rest of my face.
Repurchase? No

Did you use up any products this month? If you did, and if you blogged about it, leave the link in the comments, I’m always fascinated by what people used up!

Great post! I love that moisture surge cream by CLinique, does wonders for my dry skin. Just need to find a cheap way to source it haha

You could try strawberry net but I’m not convinced that they’re totally legit. It is so nice though!

    • Yes, a cheap source would be good! I’ve considered Strawberry Net but I’m not convinced that it’s legit yet. A little bit does go a long way so I may have to bite the bullet.

  • Love Vitamin C serum. I find it does help with pigmentation!
